Short summary A group of boys spends the summer in Ljubljana, which is dominated by an overall shortage. A shortage of money, alcohol, drugs, love and sex. They are also threatened by a hostile environment. Fortunately enough, they are pretty amused by all of the difficulties. They all get tangled up and entwined, and for the most part – fortunately unravelled.

Short summary Zlobec loses the love of his life on the last day of WWII in a plane crash, when the Herzog plane crashes into the Adriatic. Since then he's been trying desperately to raise an altar for her. That's why many things are lost to him – even the fact that in the meantime his daughter Ana grows into a shapely girl, who at the age of eighteen is seduced by a much older Rihard. The lover and the father are joiner together in a friendship, which is suddenly broken by an unfortunate event, which leaves Zlobec in a wheelchair. Rihard then sails into the world, while Ana moves away and only comes to see her father once a year, on her birthday. When she returns now, before the eyes of a young butler and his phantom companion all the strings intertwine again. Ana meets Rihard, and the old romance lives once more.
